As Owner and Director of the McCarthy Tennis Group Norman has a 5 star CV that rivals the best in the business. Recognized as a leader in high performance coaching internationally, Norman has produced and been a part of some of Africa's greatest talents over the past 21 years. Since returning to South Africa after being abroad for eight and a half years Norman has stamped his mark on the tennis arena, producing multiple number 1 ranked juniors in South Africa, of whom some have gone on to win  National titles, African Championship titles and International titles. As a player Norman enjoyed success at many levels and played both Varsity Tennis and Soccer for his University in Chicago, USA. Norman also spent time in Sweden, England, Canada and the USA playing and teaching tennis and soccer. Norman has a degree in International Business and has studied sport science and sport psychology. Norman has been a South African National team coach and was part of the 2008, African Junior Championship team to win the continental team title. In 2017 Norman competed in the ITF world championships in Cape Town and placed top 16 in singles and won bronze in the mixed doubles.

  •  ITF Singles title Potch Gr5 T. Longwe Smit Wins ITF singles title, runner up ITF doubles. Rohan Loubser Represents South Africa at AJTC

In 2018 Rohan Loubser shared the National singles title and represented South Africa. Thando Longwe Smit won the African Cup of Nations doubles u20 title, made semifinals of an ITF grade 4 defeating ITF#115 and represented South Africa. Cooper McCarthy won a National Growthpoint singles title.

In 2017 Makayla Loubser was named to the National Junior and senior Fed cup squads, Thando Longwe Smit won the African regional championships singles title and both were called to the national squad with Pierre Malan and Corin de Waal. 

In 2016 Norman had seven players who represented South Africa at international events. In this year Makayla Loubser won the u14 SA National Championships in singles, doubles and mixed doubles, the Africa Cup Singles and Doubles titles and was selected to the ITF Young Stars touring team. Pierre Malan won several national titles and gained number 1 SA ranking as well as representing SA, Marno Stander won the SA National doubles title and placed 3rd in singles, won national titles and represented SA, Thando Longwe Smit won two national circuit titles, Rohan Loubser, Corin de Waal and Ben Davidyan all represented South Africa and won a South African National circuit title.

In 2015 three players represented South Africa Pierre Malan, Thando Longwe Smit and Makayla Loubser. Several Keyhealth National titles were won.

In 2014 Marno Stander and  Makalya Loubser represented South Africa in Canada and Europe, Lisa Daniels received USA college scholarship.

In 2012 Lloyd Harris represents South Africa at AJC and WJTC qualifiers. Josh Luck, Keaton Saunders, Chevaan Davids, JD Malan, Chris van Wyk, Chloe Heerden, Makayla Morkel Brink all ranked top 10 SA. Bettina Botha gets tennis scholarship to FGCU and ranks top 5 SA.

In 2011 Lloyd Harris wins AJC singles continental title and represents SA at WJTC and is ranked number 1 in South Africa and is selceted to the ITF all stars touring team. Nina van den Berg and Marno Stander make USA touring team and win USA titles in Chicago and New York. 7 of the top 8 masters u10 boys come from MTG.

In 2010 LLoyd Harris wins SA National singles title, Josh Luck, Keaton Saunders receive SA Schools team colours and tour to Europe

In 2009 Lloyd Harris Wins SA National singles title , Chevaan Davids makes SA schools team and tours to USA

In 2008 Lloyd Harris represents SA in Europe, Keaton Saunders, Josh Luck both make top 5 ranking in SA.

Kevin Reed joined the MTG team in 2017 from Tennis Plus in Durban KZN. Kevin has proven to be an invaluable member of the MTG team and is the Head Coach for our Rondebosch Centre. Kevin holds a TCSA advanced coach qualification and participates in leagues and tournaments.

Jenny Cerff joined our staff in 2019 after a long and illustrious career as a teacher at St. Cyprians and  Reddam House. Jenny has represented South Africa in tennis for many years in world cup competition and has placed as high as top 16 in world competition in singles and top 3 in doubles. Jenny has been coaching tennis for over 30 years and brings a wealth of knowledge to the academy.

Josh joined MTG to help out with academy and  school coaching. Josh has a level 1 coaching qualification and plays league tennis.

Lynn joins us from Texas Tech university. Lynn played four years on scholarship for the varsity team and brings a wealth of playing experience.  At TT she was part of the conference winning team that placed top 8 in NCAA"s. As a junior she ranked as high as 60 in the world u18 and played junior Wimbledon. Lynn was a member of the ITF touring team and the ITF African training centre.

Esti is the MTG Office Manager and has been a part of the MTG staff since 2016. Esti brings her experience from the medical industry and also a love of the game which she plays herself.
